Our funders

The Electrification Financing Initiative (ElectriFI) was launched in 2016 as a joint project between the European Commission (EC) and the Association of European Development Finance Institutions (EDFI), initiated by FMO, the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank.

Power Africa committed another USD 10 million (to be invested in Africa), increasing the ElectriFI funding capacity to EUR 116 million.

EDFI established the EDFI Management Company (EDFIMC) to manage ElectriFI on behalf of the EC. EDFIMC works in close collaboration with EDFI’s 15 members.
